Universal’s unique mix of structural grades and heavy thicknesses sets us apart from other service centers. In addition to standard A36 up to 12” thick, A572 up to 6” thick, and A709 up to 4” thick, Universal also stocks normalized A633C up to 4” thick, weather & corrosion resistant A588 / A242 up to 2” thick, and high strength quenched and tempered A514 up to 8” thick.
Universal is a true one-stop shop your steel plate needs, capable of providing large plates, rolled items, and cut & processed parts. Universal's plate processing capabilities make us a staple in the Construction Industry, with plasma and oxy-fuel burning, beveling, drilling, tapping, counterboring, countersinking, rolling, and forming, all in-house.
Universal also has access to additional grades and the capability of providing mill certifications to additional grades, such as A656-80, A572 and A709 grades 60 & 65, and many others. In addition to standard stock and in-house capabilities, Universal has mill sources worldwide capable of producing material per precise job specifications, as well as third-party resources to meet the needs of any job.
