API & ABS Plate
Universal Steel provides API and ABS steel plates for marine and offshore applications. Standard stock in marine and offshore steel includes API 2H, API 2W, ABS A, ABS EH, and ABS DH. Marine and offshore plate is one of the more specialized subsections of carbon steel plate, involving vast and complex testing and/or chemical and physical strength requirements depending on the final application. These grades are held to strict standards under the America Petroleum Institution (API), and American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).
