This grade of steel plate has a higher concentration of Chromium and Molybdenum, depending on the specific grade, which improves performance in the final industry application. Universal carries SA387-11, or ‘1-1/4 chrome’, from 3/16” thick up to 6” thick, and SA387-22, or ‘2-1/4 chrome’, from 3/16” thick up to 4” thick.

Universal can provide third-party simulated post-weld heat treatment (SPWHT), per exact customer or end-user specifications to ensure the product will uphold the superior performance characteristics required in the environment of final application. In addition to standard stock and code requirements, Universal has mill sources worldwide capable of producing material to meet precise job specifications.
