Universal Steel America carries a broad range of carbon and alloy steel plate, with products ranging from standard stock sizes and simple shapes, to complex custom shapes and rolled cylinders. Universal provides carbon steel plate for a vast amount of applications in structural fabrication & construction, oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, marine & offshore, mining & excavation, tooling, heavy equipment manufacturing, and more.
Quality and traceability are of the utmost importance in everyday operations. At our Houston location, each plate is received with a high level of scrutiny and accompanied with a Metallurgical Test Report (MTR) from time of receipt through production and final shipment to the customer.
Steel plate specifications include, but are not limited to pressure vessel quality (PVQ), chrome-moly, API, ABS, AISI & ASTM from 3/16” up to 12” thick. Specialty requests are welcome outside of the standards listed, as Universal can supply mill direct solutions from sources around the world.
